Snapology of Chicago is looking for an FLL Coach to guide and mentor children in the FLL Robotics program, fostering their creativity, problem-solving skills, and passion for STEAM education, while preparing them for competitions.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the First Lego League program and competition rules.
- Proven problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on fostering creative thinking in students.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a group of FLL participants, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Oversee the team's progress in designing, building, and programming their robot for the FLL challenges.
- Encourage innovative thinking and help students develop effective solutions.
- Follow the FLL curriculum and ensure that the team understands the program's core values, rules, and guidelines.
- Facilitate discussions and activities related to the FLL theme and project.
- Manage the team's schedule effectively, ensuring that they stay on track with the competition timeline and meet important milestones.
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration among team members.
Other
- At least one year of prior experience coaching or mentoring students in robotics, engineering, or STEAM-related activities.
- Strong passion for STEAM education and inspiring young learners to explore and excel in these fields.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexible, patient, and supportive, with the ability to adapt to the needs and learning styles of diverse learners.
