Northern Trust is looking to execute fixed income trades efficiently and accurately, ensuring fair and equitable handling of all transactions while staying compliant with regulations and market dynamics.
Requirements
- FINRA Securities Licenses 7, 52, and 63 required.
- A Series 53 is a plus.
- Fixed income trading experience.
- Knowledge of investments, including terminology, instruments, general industry practices, market structures, execution techniques, regulatory environment and relevant securities laws, usually acquired through on the job experience or completion of a four-year degree, to ensure proper fixed income trade execution.
- Ability to respond to market events and make quick decisions.
Responsibilities
- Executes fixed income trades with minimal market impact.
- Ensures that trade orders are executed fairly and equitably (e.g. prompt execution without bias toward originating source).
- Apprises portfolio managers and other appropriate parties of relevant information affecting securities prices
- Ensures that trades settle properly.
- Maintains contact with street counterparties to conduct fixed income trading.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable rules and regulations governing investments and trading.
- Adheres to trading procedures and protocols.
Other
- Executes fixed income trades within area guidelines.
- Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
- Works with clients on idea generation and strategy implementation.
- Responds to client and partner inquiries as needed.
- Continues to enhance knowledge of markets and tools provided to execute.
