Southern Company is looking to drive innovative applications of Fixed Wireless technology by leading a team responsible for the ideation, architecture, engineering, provisioning, and management of its critical Fixed Wireless infrastructure.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Fixed Wireless network industry trends, vendors, carriers, trade groups, etc.
- Knowledge of network management systems, protocols, troubleshooting and restoration
- Knowledge of wireless, Ethernet, transport networks, IP routing and Layer 2/3 switching
- DMVPN configurations or other encryption technologies (FlexVPN)
- Integration with P-LTE infrastructure (Southern Linc)
- Prior leadership experience preferred
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience, providing engineering and/or support for infrastructure technologies is required
Responsibilities
- Ideating, architecting, engineering, provisioning, and managing the Fixed Wireless infrastructure
- Provide timely and effective 2nd and 3rd level support for all infrastructure components
- Establish life-cycle planning and maintenance programs
- Seek opportunities to drive monitoring and automation opportunities that improve device management capabilities while reducing manual processes
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to drive lifecycle planning, product support, enhancements, and resolution of security vulnerabilities
- Implement innovative solutions / processes that improve service delivery / support
- Define and execute a Fixed Wireless roadmap
