Xcel Energy is looking for a data analyst to gather, create, standardize, report, analyze, and interpret workforce, financial, and/or operational data to support the fleet organization and the management of fleet assets and data. The role will involve preparing data-driven presentations for executive decision-making and supporting projects that improve processes and align with key initiatives.
Requirements
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills required.
- SQL or other relational database experience preferred.
- Experience with multiple systems and reporting tools.
- Python skills preferred.
- Two years of data and analytics or related experience.
Responsibilities
- Gathers, creates, standardizes, reports, analyzes, and interprets workforce, financial, and/or operational data.
- Prepares insightful data driven presentations that can be delivered to executive level leaders and used in decision making and planning.
- Supports projects that span from department process efficiencies to enterprise wide, cross business area projects; including identifying metrics, managing outcomes and aligning with key initiatives.
- Compiles metrics using advanced tools from multiple systems across Human Resources, Finance, and Operations.
- Creates models to analyze and/or project data outcomes and evaluate alternate futures.
- Measures data outcomes using benchmarking, trend analysis, and/or operational insights.
- Responsible for modeling complex business problems and discovering insights using statistical, data mining, and visualization techniques.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Finance/Accounting, Information Systems, Mathematics, Economics, or an HR related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to summarize and present complex data in an organized, concise manner as well as problem solving, collaboration, and partnership capabilities.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills.
- Fleet experience preferred.
