Marriott International is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to shape and drive their global infrastructure and reliability strategy across 9,500+ properties worldwide, addressing critical infrastructure challenges and optimizing vendor relationships.
Requirements
- Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering principles, cloud-native technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and hybrid cloud strategies.
- Experience with enterprise vendors and contracts, especially in infrastructure, licensing, and managed services contexts.
- Familiarity with full stack technology lifecycle management and OpEx/CapEx planning.
- Prior experience managing ESXi clusters, hypervisors, API/microservices, and public cloud environments (preferably AWS, Azure and Ali Cloud)
- Prior experience managing security vulnerability remediation within windows, AIX, RHEL and public cloud environments.
- 7+ years of experience in IT strategy, SRE, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise architecture
- Proven success in leading large-scale transformations across global, distributed, and federated business models.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead strategy for SRE and cloud modernization across a global hotel portfolio, supporting both managed and franchised environments, including the incorporation of market research.
- Drive cross-organizational efforts to address critical infrastructure challenges such as end-of-life systems and multi-year cloud migrations.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Cloud, Procurement, Finance, Architecture and Engineering teams to develop actionable roadmaps and influence capital planning decisions.
- Provide a strategic lens into reliability initiatives, identifying high-value opportunities for automation, observability, and operational efficiency.
- Design and maintain business and operational intelligence dashboards to track key metrics such as MTTR, MTTD, CSAT, etc.
- Research into the influence of new or existing technologies for SRE and data needs for organization.
- On-going review of onshore, near shore and offshoring strategy
Other
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration within matrixed organizations, comfortable working across legal, finance, operations, engineering, and vendor ecosystems.
- Exceptional ability to translate technical complexity into executive insight—strong in visual storytelling, data synthesis, and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience of the full program life cycle from concept through to implementation with a positive, self-motivated drive and tenacious attitude.
