We're seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Lab Supervisor to lead our Food & Product Testing Department, specializing in microbiological and analytical testing. In this role, you’ll oversee daily lab operations, ensure testing accuracy and compliance, and support a skilled team of technicians to deliver timely, high-quality results for our customers.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in food, dairy, or environmental testing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Responsibilities
- Ensure testing accuracy and adherence to SOPs, regulatory standards, and customer requirements
- Perform and review laboratory analyses as needed, maintaining high-quality standards
- Oversee QA/QC programs, equipment maintenance, and calibration records
- Maintain inventory of supplies, reagents, and lab media
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Other
- Supervise and schedule daily operations and technician workloads
- Communicate with customers regarding testing results, timelines, and special requests
- Support certification and audit processes with the QA/QC Manager
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a scientific field preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy and customer service
- Ability to work flexible hours or overtime as needed based on workload
