Under Armour is looking to solve the problem of developing and delivering state-of-the-art footwear products by hiring a Developer 1 – Footwear who can support driving Footwear product development from brief to confirm for production, ensuring best-in-class fit, comfort, and performance.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Footwear product development and manufacturing experience
- Ability to critique, adjust and evaluate technical blueprints (outsole/ midsole/ upper), upper patterns and materials from a performance, manufacturing, and functional perspective.
- Program Experience: Microsoft Suite, Adobe Illustrator, or 3D viewer, and Centric
Responsibilities
- Utilize your advanced skills in pattern engineering and subsequent costing/quality implications, model making, part drawings, drafting, 2D documentation, 3D, mold making, materials, customs, patents, and most aspects of the manufacturing processes.
- Lead and manage multiple projects from Brief stage through Design, Development, Costing and Commercialization
- Plan and execute project development according to the seasonal critical dates that lead to on–time delivery of sales samples and production confirmation
- Display an in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process with the ability to manipulate the process in order to advance and achieve new manufacturing techniques which enhance the overall performance of product
- Consult with design and development teammtes to ensure that designs are manufacturable and meet cost and quality objectives of the organization
- Recommend and specify to product team the material, component, and construction options to meet pricing targets and product’s functional goals, as well as assure product performance integrity through product testing (physical and field testing)
- Provide technical packages for assigned projects for each season, including midsole/outsole blueprints, upper pattern packages, color maps, project specifications

- This individual must reside within commuting distance from Portland office.
- This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.
- Experience traveling and working with Footwear manufactures
- Ability to work professionally and efficiently cross-functionally with teams including Sales, Marketing, Production, and Operations
- Strong understanding of the working methods and cultural norms of source countries
