Compass Connections is looking to solve the problem of providing adequate care and support to children with mental health or behavioral disabilities in a residential setting.
Requirements
- First aid certification
- CPR certification
- Emergency behavior intervention certification
- Computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
- Ability to respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals.
- Ability to provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Compass Connections when needed to maintain a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
- Maintain a case load in accordance with agency policies and procedures and contract standards.
- Train and evaluate foster parents to ensure adequate skill and motivation to implement the agency behavior management model.
- Provide ongoing and regular face-to-face supervision of foster parents according to program requirements.
- Maintain accurate and current foster care records.
- Intervene in crisis situations involving foster children or families.
- Prepare daily census and department reports as assigned.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
- Two (2) plus years of working with children who have mental health or behavioral disabilities in a residential setting
- Two (2) plus years of child placing experience
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
