SewerAI is looking for an AI leader to define and execute their machine learning strategy to improve the speed, effectiveness, and cost for cities and engineering firms to manage infrastructure by interpreting real-world visual data at scale.
Requirements
- Proven track record of leading AI/ML projects from concept to production.
- Strong background in computer vision, especially with large or complex datasets.
- Fluency in modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.) and deployment practices.
- Exceptional judgment in identifying high-impact research directions.
- Comfort working in an early-stage, resource-constrained environment where speed and quality both matter.
- Comprehensive testing (Playwright E2E, Jest unit tests)
- Code reviews, and automated deployment pipelines.

- Set the AI vision, communicate it clearly, and rally the team behind it.
- Build a gold-standard, meticulously labeled dataset as the foundation for breakthrough models.
- Focus on the right problems and the right approaches, balancing ambition with feasibility.
- Build robust pipelines and deploy models that create measurable impact in the real world.
- Establish best practices for experimentation, data handling, and evaluation.
- Design and deliver computer vision systems that can interpret real-world visual data at scale.
- Automate the labor intensive part of labeling cracks, roots and grease in pipeline inspection videos.
