UniversalAGI is building OpenAI for Physics, aiming to create foundation AI models for physics that enable end-to-end industrial automation from initial design through optimization, validation, and production. The company is looking for a founding Full Stack Product Engineer to build the product experiences that put AI physics capabilities into the hands of engineers and customers, making complex physics simulations intuitive and accessible.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of full stack development experience building and shipping customer-facing products, ideally at fast-moving startups or product-focused companies
  • Strong frontend skills: Expert-level proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern web development. Experience building complex, performant UIs with excellent UX
  • Solid backend foundation: Strong experience with Node.js, Python, or Go for building APIs, services, and backend systems. Comfortable with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • API design expertise: Experience designing clean, scalable REST or GraphQL APIs that power complex applications
  • Data visualization skills: Experience with visualization libraries (D3.js, Three.js, Plotly, etc.) and creating interfaces for complex data
  • Strong system design abilities: Can architect scalable full stack applications, make smart tradeoff decisions, and understand performance implications
  • Outstanding execution velocity: Ships features rapidly, debugs efficiently, and thrives in fast-paced environments

Responsibilities

  • Build customer-facing applications that make complex physics simulations intuitive and accessible, creating dashboards, visualization tools, and interfaces for foundation model interactions
  • Design and implement robust backend APIs that power our product features, handle simulation workflows, and integrate with our ML infrastructure and customer systems
  • Own the full product development cycle from concept to production, shipping features that solve real customer problems and working directly with users to iterate based on feedback
  • Create data visualization and analytics tools that help engineers understand simulation results, model performance, and physics insights in real-time
  • Build fine-tuning and customization interfaces that let customers adapt our foundation models through intuitive UIs without needing to write code or understand ML internals
  • Develop integration tools and SDKs that make it easy for customers to embed our physics AI into their existing CAE workflows, design tools, and simulation pipelines
  • Design real-time collaboration features that enable engineering teams to work together on simulations, share results, and iterate on designs

Other

  • Work directly with the CEO and founding team
  • Work directly with customers on their workflows, pain points, and feature requests, turning customer conversations into shipped product improvements
  • Strong communicator: Can talk to customers, understand their workflows, and translate technical capabilities into product features they'll love
  • Ownership mentality: Takes full responsibility for features from concept through deployment, monitoring, and iteration
  • 5 Days Onsite in San Francisco
