Skyward is looking to modernize government services and enhance digital experiences for millions of users by developing high-quality, accessible, and responsive user interfaces for web applications that modernize enterprise systems for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Requirements
- Proven experience collaborating with human-centered design teams to create accessible, intuitive, and responsive interfaces
- Hands-on experience with Python, especially in environments requiring front-end and back-end integration
- At least 3 years of experience working with modern front-end frameworks, particularly React and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices
- Deep knowledge of RESTful APIs and their integration into complex front-end architectures
- Experience working within Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Lean, or SAFe
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality, accessible, and responsive user interfaces for web applications
- Collaborate with UX designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into functional code
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, performance, and scalability
- Integrate APIs and backend services to deliver seamless, end-to-end user experiences
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive component library to ensure UI consistency across applications
- Champion front-end testing using tools like Selenium to ensure application stability and quality
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and advocating for best practices in front-end development
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively across cross-functional teams and government stakeholders
