ChowNow is looking to enhance its frontend applications to improve the digital ordering experience for restaurants and their customers, while also evolving its frontend architecture and engineering capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in building responsive web applications using modern frameworks such as React.
- Hands-on experience with scalable, secure, and performant microservices in Python, Node.js, or similar languages.
- Strong understanding of API design, documentation, and collaboration with backend teams for creating ergonomic APIs for web and mobile applications.
- Experience developing, launching, and supporting large-scale B2B and B2C SaaS products.
- Proficiency working within Agile environments, partnering effectively with Product, Design, QA, and other Engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain ChowNow’s frontend applications, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability.
- Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and set best practices for frontend development.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design and implement new features aligned with product and business goals.
- Support the integration of multiple teams into a cohesive codebase, ensuring consistency and maintainability.
- Lead efforts to evolve frontend architecture, including adopting new technologies and frameworks as appropriate.
- Define, track, and improve key performance metrics for frontend applications.
- Advocate for best practices in security, accessibility, and user experience across the development lifecycle.

- Minimum of 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a technical lead or staff role.
- Ability to define and measure key metrics, lead teams to meet objectives, and foster a culture of rapid iteration and experimentation.
- Excellent communication, mentorship, and leadership skills with a focus on supporting team growth and diversity.
- Passion for supporting local restaurants and a commitment to creating impactful user experiences.
