EBSCO Information Services is looking to scale its user interface architecture by leveraging modern JavaScript frameworks and tools to build fast, accessible, and maintainable applications.
Requirements
- 7+ years of front-end development experience, with a strong focus on React and Next.js
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript within production environments
- Experience building high-performance, accessible web applications at scale
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows and frontend test automation tools
- Deep understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA standards and accessibility auditing tools such as axe-core and Lighthouse
- Experience contributing to or leading component libraries and design systems
- Strong debugging, performance profiling, and optimization skills
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex, reusable user interfaces utilizing React and Next.js frameworks
- Integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs, including managing authentication flows and handling edge cases
- Conduct accessibility audits and implement improvements to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards using tools like axe-core
- Optimize frontend performance through techniques such as lazy loading, code splitting, and Lighthouse audits
- Expand and maintain test coverage using Playwright or similar automation tools to ensure application stability
- Contribute to the evolution of shared design systems and token-based styling strategies
- Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and guide architectural decisions to ensure best practices

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design and product managers to implement user-focused features
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to frontend architecture, performance, and accessibility
