Tesla's Discovery team is looking to develop intuitive applications that educate and acquire customers on all Tesla product lines, including a modern CMS for www.tesla.com, AI-enabled chatbots, Demo Drive experiences on web, mobile, and agents, and Retail Digital Experiences. This team supports the systems, platforms, and tools to communicate with the world.
Requirements
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, and the React framework, including Hooks, Context API, and component lifecycle management
- Strong understanding of CSS, accessibility and localization
- Familiarity with core React design patterns, state management (e.g., Redux or MobX), and tools like Webpack, Vite
- Knowledge of modern web trends, including PWAs, accessibility (WCAG standards), security (OWASP guidelines), performance optimization (e.g., Lighthouse audits)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in web application development, ideally with customer-facing and internal tools
- Experience with Next.js for server-side rendering, static sites and CMS is a big plus
Responsibilities
- Build responsive, secure, intuitive, fast, accessible, and visually stunning global web applications for Tesla prospects and customers, leveraging React and modern best practices
- Design for flexibility, scalability, and customization right from the start, incorporating server-side rendering, static generation, and API routes with Next.js
- Apply first-principles thinking to optimize processes, enhance performance (e.g., via code-splitting and lazy loading), and deliver exceptional customer experiences
- Work on impactful projects that directly advance sustainable energy adoption worldwide
- craft high-performance, accessible, responsive, optimized, pixel-perfect user experiences across web and mobile platforms
- support dynamic and reusable components, CMS systems, AI agents, and other systems to keep innovating content delivery and UX
- help build the channels Tesla communicates with the world, starting with the homepage of Tesla.com
