Amazon is seeking customer focused individuals eager to develop a collaborative leadership style with a team of hourly employees across our Operations network. As an Area Manager Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn how to coach, motivate and mentor a team of Amazon associates in a warehouse environment. Amazon provides extensive training and development to become an exceptional people leader. Your main focus will be learning to manage a team as well as developing a summer project in partnership with your site leadership.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with all requirements anticipated to be completed between December 2026 and August 2027
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or another related field.
Responsibilities
- Learn to coach, manage and develop a team of 50-100 Amazon Associates
- Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project
- Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment
- Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
- Willing and able to regularly work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs.
- Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment (at applicable facilities) and step in as needed.
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
Other
- This is a ten-week internship (40 hours per week) during the summer of 2026 located within one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations or other operations buildings.
- Our warehouses are fast-paced supply chain environments where standing, walking, and having on-the-production floor conversations are common.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
