The Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston is seeking to strengthen its data science capabilities and foster cross-disciplinary research by hiring a Full Professor with expertise in statistical modeling and computation.
Requirements
- earned Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or Statistics or a closely related field
- demonstrated distinguished records in all aspects of research, teaching, and leadership with a sustained vibrant research program funded by competitive funding agencies
Responsibilities
- integrates data science, with focus on statistical modeling and computation
- expertise in areas of data science such as machine learning, predictive modeling, decision-making under uncertainty, artificial intelligence, or computational statistics
- develop and foster nationally recognized, cross-disciplinary research programs
