The Archdiocese of Chicago is looking to build and scale its data infrastructure, extracting data from source systems, transforming raw data into clean, reliable datasets, and delivering actionable insights to business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Java.
- Familiarity with BI tools and dashboard development.
- Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD workflows and version control (Git).
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehouse design.
- Experience with developing Power BI Reports and Dashboards.
- Solid understanding of database design principles, indexing, and normalization.
- Experience with data engineering, software engineering, or a similar technical role.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Manage and optimize cloud data infrastructure.
- Ensure data reliability, security, and performance across systems.
- Develop and maintain clean, tested, and documented data models.
- Implement data governance, lineage, and quality monitoring.
- Build dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Conduct exploratory analysis and deliver insights that drive strategic decisions.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or analytical discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or Management Information Systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross functionally.
- 2+ years of experience in a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or a similar technical role.
- Ability to partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with analysts and business teams to define metrics and semantic layers.
