Homeland Force and Protection within Leidos is seeking a strong applications Full Stack Developer to join the Traveler Processing and Vetting Solutions (TPVS) Program supporting the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States.
Requirements
- Experience with agile-based implementations
- Knowledge of workflows and rules engines
- Experience in Java
- Experience working with PostgeSQL and AWS
- Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD)/Behavioral-Driven Development (BDD)
- Experience applying a continuous integration/deployment approach to project or program delivery
- Familiarity with AI concepts and code assistance tools
- JDK21and above (strongly preferred)
- Python, JavaScript
- Redis/Memcached/Elasticache
- WebServices including REST interfaces development
- Messaging solutions including Kafka, ActiveMQ, SQS, SNS
Responsibilities
- Learn and support the implementation of workflow and rules technology integration across multiple applications
- Track assigned tasks to completion within a team of 10+ developers.
- Identify and resolve technical issues that arise
- Employ ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems to achieve functional objectives
- Research, evaluate, and stay current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies including cloud services

- This position REQUIRES the candidate to be in Ashburn, VA, twice a week
- Provide assistance and support for less experienced team members
- Work independently
- Communicate with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members.
- Must be able to maintain and obtain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start
