FCDC aims to provide cost-effective, business-driven, collaborative, and secure IT services and solutions to public service agencies in Franklin County, Ohio. The GX Foundry (GXF) is focused on designing, building, and sustaining digital products that build trust in government services through human-centered experiences.
Requirements
- Create code within an Enterprise-level development platform, specifically .NET, and the high-level programming languages within said platform, such as but not limited to C-Sharp.
- Be familiar with common architectural or design patterns within application development such as MVC and Web Forms.
- Ability to comprehend and manipulate front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Understand basic concepts within common JavaScript libraries for both front-end and back-end development, specifically React but knowledge in Node.js, Angular, or other libraries could be beneficial.
- Have a fundamental understanding of modern database architecture, such as SQL Server, and be comfortable with navigating Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Create technical documentation to preserve the ongoing efforts of product ownership and enter said documentation into a collaboration tool such as Atlassian Confluence.
- Utilize proper code delivery behavior and branching strategies in code repository tools such as Git (GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Understand technical requirements and translate them into elegant solutions within the Data Center’s technical stack.
- Utilize best practices within application development to create scalable, easily maintainable solutions with minimal technical debt.
- Comprehend business requirements and contribute to the analysis of whether a solution should be full-stack custom, off-the-shelf, customized, or non-traditional.
- Have an openness to non-traditional forms of software development, specifically low-code platforms such as Quickbase or Microsoft Power Platform.
- Exemplify an attitude of product ownership and subject matter expertise for the solutions for which they are responsible.
- Advocate for the needs and interests of users within the county, promoting benefits and encouraging usage.
- Collaborate with the FCDC Help Desk on end user support, enabling first-contact incident or request resolution.
Other
- Employees new to FCDC or promoted into new positions must complete a 180-day probationary period.
- All employees must adhere to current Employee Handbook policies.
- Provide direct and indirect user support, including end user documentation and/or training.
- Support period system regulatory compliance reviews and produce security and audit evidence as needed.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
