Maxar Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to develop discovery and automation tools for geospatial and intelligence analysis, supporting national security and intelligence operations by providing innovative solutions to analyze and visualize data from diverse sources.
Requirements
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, R, and JavaScript is essential, particularly for data extraction, manipulation, and visualization tasks.
- demonstrated expertise in creating custom solutions for web, on-premises, and cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Create discovery and automation tools to enable geospatial and intelligence analysis of complex problems utilizing an array of data types and sources.
- Develop enabling software solutions using scripting languages that address real-world user requirements, including writing, debugging, and documenting code.
- Monitor and understand high-level operational geospatial processes to ensure the effectiveness and relevance of developed tools.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement solutions that meet customer needs and operational goals.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and incorporate them into ongoing projects to enhance capabilities.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.

- US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance are mandatory for consideration, with potential for CI Poly clearance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are necessary to effectively collaborate with geographically dispersed teams and articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Willingness to work onsite up to 50% or as dictated by project needs is also required.
- A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or GIS is required.
