Patreon is seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer to scale and expand the capabilities of its payment platform, ensuring creators are paid accurately, reliably, and on time, thereby maximizing creator earnings and supporting the company's mission to fund the creative class.
Requirements
- Proficiency with frontend frameworks and technologies including React, Typescript, and Next.js
- Strong experience with Python or similar programming languages and SQL
- Develop backend services utilizing Java, Python, Flask, Spring Boot, MySQL, and AWS infrastructure
- Proven track record of building reliable, high-throughput systems with attention to detail
- Experience in the payments domain is a plus but not mandatory
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and design of Patreon’s payment products and tools to optimize creator earnings
- Architect scalable, maintainable, and well-tested components for the payment platform
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to develop new functionalities and improve user experience
- Implement frontend solutions using React, Typescript, and Next.js to enhance platform usability
- Develop backend services utilizing Java, Python, Flask, Spring Boot, MySQL, and AWS infrastructure
- Drive technical excellence by mentoring engineers and fostering a product-minded engineering culture
- Ensure system reliability, security, and performance through rigorous testing and best practices

- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and mentoring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- The company is headquartered in San Francisco and adopts a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in-office two days per week.
