Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market. Interns will help shape the future of fleet management and performance monitoring for our autonomous robot fleet, build out backend services for rider and vehicle operator experience, and build full stack web applications to monitor and support our fleet at scale.

Requirements

  • Fluent in Kotlin, Java or Python programming language
  • Solid foundations in JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • Experience in modern C++ development on Linux systems
  • Solid understanding of web technologies
  • Experience with a Front End UI Framework (e.g Vue, React, Svelte)
  • Experience with modern software development practices (Git, CI/CD, code review), automated testing and validation methodologies
  • Experience with Monitoring Tools (e.g., building/optimizing dashboards and alerts using Grafana)

Responsibilities

  • help shape the future of fleet management and performance monitoring for our autonomous robot fleet
  • work with real-time telemetry, modern observability stacks, and critical cloud APIs
  • migrating legacy systems and optimizing our monitoring dashboards to provide fleet-wide omniscience
  • build out the backend services that provide top-notch rider and vehicle operator experience across mobile apps, robots, and web apps
  • part of the backbone of our autonomous fleet management system and the brains behind connecting our riders and vehicle operators to our robots
  • collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers and remote operators to build full stack web applications to monitor and support our fleet at scale
  • provide in-vehicle visualization systems and provide live ride support to our growing rider base

Other

  • Currently working towards a B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program
  • Must be returning to school to continue your education upon completing this internship
  • Good academic standing
  • Able to commit to a 12-week internship beginning in May or June of 2026
  • At least one previous industry internship, co-op, or project completed in a relevant area
