Patreon is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to scale and enhance its payment platform, ensuring creators are paid accurately and on time, and to develop robust payment processing systems for its global creator base.
Requirements
- Proficiency with frontend frameworks and technologies including React, Typescript, and Next.js
- Strong experience with Python or similar languages and SQL
- Solid understanding of system design, performance optimization, and testing methodologies
- Experience mentoring junior engineers is a plus
- Prior experience in the payments domain is advantageous but not mandatory
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of Patreon's payment platform and related tools
- Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable payment processing systems
- Implement best practices in system architecture, performance, and security
- Work with frontend technologies such as React, Typescript, and Next.js to deliver engaging user experiences
- Develop backend services using Java, Python, Flask, Spring Boot, and manage data with MySQL and AWS
- Advocate for and implement robust testing, monitoring, and observability practices
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and other Agile development activities

- 3-5+ years of experience in software development
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
