Building both external and internal web applications that power OpenAI's products and teams
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on full-stack web development
- Proficient in building user-facing products and internal applications with rapid iteration cycles
- Strong understanding of security principles and best practices for protecting sensitive data
- Familiar with a broad range of modern front-end and back-end frameworks and tools
- Experience building internal tools for multidisciplinary teams (e.g., research, operations, design, engineering)
- Proven track record of effectively selecting and integrating third-party or open-source solutions
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain web applications for external customers
- Develop internal tools used across research, product development, design, operations, and engineering teams
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on new tools in collaboration with stakeholders
- Architect and deliver full-stack solutions with a strong emphasis on usability and security
- Evaluate third-party and open-source solutions, making sound build vs. buy decisions
- Establish best practices for internal tooling, including code quality, reliability, and security
