Mutual of Omaha is looking to build AI-powered applications that support internal operations across the organization, transforming the way they do business by leveraging innovative AI solutions.
Requirements
- 2+ years building and deploying production-grade applications in Python, using infrastructure as code and leveraging AWS services, particularly Bedrock, SageMaker, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and infrastructure as code (CDK).
- Front-end development skills paired with a strong grasp of UX principles.
- Understanding of observability, auditability, and responsible AI practices.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and under-defined problems—delivering robust, scalable solutions in fast-moving environments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate-functionally with AI engineers, data scientists, and UX architects to reimagine internal business processes, empowering users to focus on high-value work while leaning on custom AI tools.
- Contribute across the full engineering lifecycle—from early-stage brainstorming through architecture, development, testing, and deployment—within a cross-functional team.
- Ship AI systems as user-facing microservices, iterating on interaction patterns that maximize adoption and measurable impact.
- Integrate AI into enterprise workflows using full-stack technologies, while aligning with architectural best practices and approved CDKs to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Build robust tooling to support AI quality assurance, auditability, observability, and cost control—enabling responsible and efficient AI operations across the organization.

- Demonstrated interest in algorithmic innovation beyond generative AI.
