Waymo is seeking a Data Labeling Infrastructure Engineer to develop and maintain data solutions that support the entire machine learning lifecycle for the Waymo Driver and other models, ensuring the production of high-quality labeled datasets essential for training and evaluation.
Requirements
- Experience developing data annotation and review tools for machine learning, content moderation, or trust and safety applications
- Proficiency in building API servers and web backend systems
- Strong experience with large-scale data processing pipelines, including optimization, debugging, and maintenance
- Proficiency in Typescript and frontend frameworks such as Angular or ReactJS
Responsibilities
- Design and develop state-of-the-art labeling infrastructure to facilitate the creation of labeled datasets for machine learning models
- Enhance the data "flywheel" by automating workflows, implementing monitoring solutions, and improving end-to-end efficiency
- Collaborate with labeling operations teams to identify process bottlenecks and develop tooling to manage large workforces effectively
- Build scalable API servers and web applications to support data annotation and review activities
- Maintain and optimize large data processing pipelines to ensure high performance and reliability
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data labeling processes and infrastructure to support the evolving needs of Waymo’s autonomous driving systems

- 3+ years of professional experience in data annotation, review tools, or related areas
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Competitive salary within the range of $136,000 to $173,000 USD, commensurate with experience and location
