PlexTrac is looking to solve the problem of cybersecurity threat exposure management by leveraging AI-powered penetration test reporting tools and platforms for real-time threat exposure management.
Requirements
- 7+ years software engineering experience
- Proven, hands-on history shipping ML/AI systems into production (fine-tuning or instruct-tuning, RAG, vector DBs, model serving)
- Deep technical understanding of inference stack, scaling, latency/cost tradeoffs, and data pipelines
- Experience choosing/training models (LLMs/transformers) and deploying safely with monitoring/observability
- Hands-on experience in fine-tuning LLMs, Agentic AI, MCPs and RAG systems
- 2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with a focus on NLP, LLMs, and conversational AI
- Strong experience with Python and knowledge of JavaScript development (TypeScript, React)
Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy and architecture for our Gen-AI initiatives: model selection, data pipelines, infrastructure, inference, monitoring, and cost controls
- Build and ship production AI embedded products (prompt orchestration, fine-tuning pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation, model serving, observability)
- Be the principal engineer for AI: hands-on coding, designing APIs, owning reliability and performance at scale
- Translate technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders (product, sales, execs) and create clear decision frameworks
- Mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and grow the AI engineering playbook (tests, data quality, safety guardrails)
- Drive vendor & model strategy (open-source vs hosted LLMs)
- Strong communicator — able to explain complex ML topics to PMs, sales, legal, and executives
