BryceTech is looking for a Geospatial Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Planning and Exercise Division (PED) in developing plans, conducting exercises, providing training, and performing data and geospatial analytics.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, ESRI Dashboards, and related GIS tools.
  • Experience integrating real-time data feeds into GIS dashboards and templates.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with FEMA SharePoint for data and product management.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 compliance standards.
  • Experience applying geospatial tools in operational environments, including FEMA’s Six-Step Planning Process, NIMS, and ICS.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of professional experience in GIS and geospatial analysis, preferably in emergency management or homeland security.

Responsibilities

  • Performing geospatial data collection, integration, and analysis to support disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
  • Developing and maintaining GIS dashboards, maps, and visualizations to enhance situational awareness and decision-making.
  • Organizing, structuring, and maintaining geospatial datasets, templates, and tools within FEMA’s Planning Decision Support Catalog (PDSC).
  • Supporting the design and automation of analytical tools with real-time data feeds (e.g., NWS, DOE, transportation).
  • Producing decision-support products such as incident journals, lifeline dashboards, and crisis action maps.
  • Conducting hazard and risk assessments to inform FEMA’s planning and operational coordination.
  • Supporting national- and regional-level planning workshops, exercises, and briefings with geospatial analysis and visualizations.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Emergency Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in hybrid and surge environments (HQ, Regional, or Remote).
  • SECRET clearance preferred.
  • Ensuring all geospatial products meet FEMA formatting, branding, and Section 508 compliance requirements.
