Maxar is seeking a Geospatial Data Scientist to solve complex geospatial problems using advanced geoprocessing, performing geographic information systems (GIS) analyses on various types of structured and unstructured data, leveraging knowledge of spatial and temporal analysis, and refining workflows through modeling and scripting.
Requirements
- Proficient in using R and RStudio for statistical analysis, data visualization, and data manipulation.
- 2+ years experience as an ORSA, data scientist, or similar field. A Master’s degree can count for 2 year of experience.
- 2+ years of experience with developing, manipulating, and maintaining relational databases.
- Experience with Python and other programming languages to automate geospatial processing tasks
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro
- Experience with ArcGIS Online / ArcGIS Enterprise
- Experience with Creating geospatial visualizations on analytic products
Responsibilities
- Provide integrated geospatially based spatial and temporal analysis to discover and characterize relationships, trends, and infer conclusions to enable pattern analysis.
- Maintain spatial data layers to support data integration.
- Assist in the integration of data mining, visualization, nodal analysis, and temporal tools with the ArcGIS Pro tools and the integration of NGA products.
- Design, create, and execute advanced computational and statistical modeling applications for geospatial analysis, display, and pattern recognition.
- Refine and export complex algorithmic data results into user-friendly analytical products for simplified geospatial understanding.
- Simplify complex workflows via programming and create tools that drive efficiency.
- Collaborate with motivated and highly skilled teammates.

- US citizenship with an active or current TS/SCI clearance.
- Certificate of GIS or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Willing to work on-site in Tampa, FL (4 days in office, 1 day remote).
