Maxar is seeking a Geospatial Data Scientist to solve complex geospatial problems using advanced geoprocessing, and to create user applications and interfaces using programming while possessing a background or understanding of geographic information systems.
Requirements
- Proficient in using R and RStudio for statistical analysis, data visualization, and data manipulation.
- 2+ years of experience with developing, manipulating, and maintaining relational databases.
- Experience with Python and other programming languages to automate geospatial processing tasks
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro
- Experience with ArcGIS Online / ArcGIS Enterprise
- Experience with Creating geospatial visualizations on analytic products
- Experience with Creating info graphics for visualization of geospatial data
Responsibilities
- Provide integrated geospatially based spatial and temporal analysis to discover and characterize relationships, trends, and infer conclusions to enable pattern analysis.
- Maintain spatial data layers to support data integration.
- Assist in the integration of data mining, visualization, nodal analysis, and temporal tools with the ArcGIS Pro tools and the integration of NGA products.
- Design, create, and execute advanced computational and statistical modeling applications for geospatial analysis, display, and pattern recognition.
- Refine and export complex algorithmic data results into user-friendly analytical products for simplified geospatial understanding.
- Simplify complex workflows via programming and create tools that drive efficiency.
- Collaborate with motivated and highly skilled teammates.
Other
- US citizenship with an active or current TS/SCI clearance.
- BS in a technical discipline (Computer Science or related preferred) or 4 additional years of work experience.
- Certificate of GIS or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- 2+ years experience as an ORSA, data scientist, or similar field. A Master’s degree can count for 2 year of experience.
- Willing to work on-site in Tampa, FL (4 days in office, 1 day remote).
