GlobalFoundries (GF) is looking for students with experience in Silicon Photonics (SiPh) for their Research and Development and Product Line Organizations to contribute to the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry.
Requirements
- experience in Silicon Photonics (SiPh)
- experience in SiPh device design, simulations and layout
- Experience using simulations tools such as Lumerical, Flexcompute, TCAD, Spice is a plus but not a requirement
- Projects related to SiPh optical filters, modulators, fiber couplers and use of inverse designs methodologies are possible
- Students in Masters or Ph. D. programs are strongly preferred.
- In-depth study or course work in optical materials and material characterization.
- Understanding of optical / electrical device physics, high speed operation

- Understanding of Micro-Electronics Process Integration,
- Understanding of Silcon Photonics, Optical interconnects, System architectures.
Other
- Education –Actively pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D in engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
- Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
- Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the 3-4 month internship.
- Prior related internship or co-op experience
