Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is looking to improve the delivery of reliable water and wastewater services to its communities by hiring a Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst 1 to manage GIS databases, integrate with other systems, and analyze data to support business requirements.
Requirements
- Must be familiar with Esri GIS software products including ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 or later.
- At least two (2) years experience with GIS applications including hands-on experience with digital mapping, digitization, scanning, data entry and data conversion issues.
- Data analysis and management using the Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.
- Understanding and mastery of the ESRI suite of software is required.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Experience with hydraulic modeling is preferred.
- Experience with GIS data modeling and querying is required.
Responsibilities
- Communicate regularly with operations and engineering staff throughout all Aqua states to understand specific business requirements and needs in those states.
- Identify and recommend GIS solutions that can be implemented to meet business requirements.
- Work with Aqua GIS staff and/or contractors to implement and support GIS solutions.
- Fully understand GIS data model and be capable of querying the database to produce data in response to requests from the business.
- Be able to “merge” data from multiple information systems in order to solve problems.
- Support hydraulic modeling, including using GIS to generate hydraulic models and analyze problems and recommend solutions.
- Work with GIS Administrator to support GIS operations.

- College graduate with B.S. in engineering or other technical major.
