Requirements

  • At least seven years’ experience in IT development roles
  • Three or more years of experience with relational database management systems using SQL
  • Three or more years of GIS analysis experience
  • Experience with APIs, service management (SOAP & REST); HTML, Python, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, JSON, ASP.NET
  • Experience in platform architecture, solution design, planning, developing, deployment, and security
  • Experience in IIS and Windows Server Administration
  • Experience in Section 508 Compliant Application Development

Responsibilities

  • Designs, configures, customizes, and deploys new features to existing solutions; builds features from customer requirements, managing data flows, and performing routine maintenance, enhancements, and bug fixes
  • Provide performance monitoring and tuning, service configuration, security, and licensing when needed
  • Administer Enterprise Geodatabases using SQL
  • Automate analysis and reporting tasks using scripting languages such as Python/JavaScript to support field operations
  • Produce static and interactive cartographic products to communicate complex concepts to audiences of all types
  • Supports requirements elicitation and provide feedback to optimize requirements to align to development best practices; works with business owners and analysts to define workflows and develop user stories
  • Builds and tests systems their integration.

Other

  • Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust with the US federal government
  • Develops and manages a schedule to meet deliverables and establish estimated completion dates
  • Follows the government’s software development lifecycle framework and provides agreed upon project documentation
  • Completes tasks on time with minimal supervision but supports collaboration across teams
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, GIS or related field
