The Texas General Land Office is seeking a Data Analyst V (Data Governance Lead) to perform highly complex data analysis and research, guide the selection of data management tools, develop standards, and ensure data quality and governance framework implementation.
Requirements
- 5 years experience in data governance, data management, security or a related discipline.
- Experience with cloud data governance frameworks (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with data governance tools such as Collibra, Alation.
- Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging practices.
- Understanding of AI/ML applications in data governance, including automated compliance monitoring, classification tools.
- Training or certification in data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
- Experience driving data literacy and governance training programs across an organization.
Responsibilities
- Guide the selection of data management tools and the development of standards, usage guidelines, and procedures for those tools.
- Define, develop, and implement data and reporting standards.
- Develop data quality measures, analyze data quality results, and implement necessary changes to ensure data quality improvement.
- Develop software applications or programming to use for statistical modeling, data analysis, and graphic analysis.
- Drive data governance initiatives, including policy development, data stewardship, and end-user training programs.
- Maintain documentation of data governance policies, processes, standards, and data definitions.
- Assist in the implementation and adoption of data governance tools and platforms.
