ALO is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Manager to manage their global trade compliance program and ensure all import and export activities comply with international trade laws and regulations, particularly for e-commerce and international operations.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, EU customs codes, Canada CBSA and Asia-Pacific trade laws.
- Experience managing trade compliance programs for digital commerce platforms and cross-border fulfillment.
- Familiarity with international shipping platforms, digital customs clearance tools, and e-commerce logistics providers.
- Proficiency in ACE, Microsoft Office Suite, and trade compliance software.
- US Customs Broker License is a plus.
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive global trade compliance program tailored to e-commerce and international operations.
- Oversee import/export activities for both traditional and e-commerce channels, ensuring compliance with EU regulations, Canada CBSA, and Asian market requirements.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes in key markets (e.g., EU, UK, Asia, Canada); update internal policies and SOPs accordingly.
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments; implement corrective actions to mitigate compliance risks.
- Manage relationships with customs authorities, brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies across multiple regions.
- Support HTS classification, valuation, documentation, and duty optimization programs including Free Trade Agreements and preferential trade schemes.
- Assist with Duty Drawback Programs and recovery initiatives, especially for high-volume e-commerce returns.
Other
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade compliance, with at least 2 years focused on e-commerce and international operations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
