Justworks is looking to solve HR issues for businesses by enabling them to focus on running their business. The Go-to-Market Data Engineer will be the technical powerhouse enabling data-driven marketing initiatives, bridging the gap between data teams and marketing stakeholders, translating data requests into actionable marketing segments and campaigns, and activating marketing data to maximize campaign effectiveness.
Requirements
- Advanced SQL proficiency. Expertise in writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and utilizing diverse SQL functions.
- Knowledge of modeling with dbt and medallion architecture.
- Experience with Python for automation and proficiency in working with APIs for data integration. Experience with API and browser control frameworks a plus.
- Comfort with git and version control.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas), fact/dimension tables, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Proficiency in marketing technology, including marketing automation platforms, customer data platforms, adtech, and enrichment/intelligence tools.
- Experience in maintaining data hygiene and governance.
Responsibilities
- Expertly translate marketing data requests into actionable segments by developing and executing complex SQL queries and data transformations within our data warehouse.
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow between Snowflake and our marketing technology stack (CRM, marketing automation, CDP), guaranteeing data consistency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain custom scripts to automate data sharing, streamline marketing processes, and extend the functionality of our marketing automation platforms. This includes building bespoke solutions for unique marketing challenges and improving operational efficiency.
- Oversee the Customer Data Platform (CDP) to ensure unified customer profiles, maintain data quality and compliance, and resolve any related technical issues.
- Develop automated tests and monitoring to validate the accuracy and consistency of data flowing through marketing pipelines. Implement automated checks for critical campaign elements like audience segments, personalization, and tracking to ensure the technical reliability of our marketing efforts.
- Act as the primary technical interface between data teams and marketing, translating complex data concepts into accessible language and providing training and support on data access and utilization.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all relevant data processes and workflows, ensuring clear knowledge transfer and operational efficiency.

- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience working in a data or engineering role.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.
- Technically capable, excellent communicator, and a desire to improve processes.
- Experience working within a SaaS company a plus.
