Impulse Space is looking to solve the problem of efficient command, telemetry, and control of spacecraft through the development of ground software.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping software projects using Python and/or JavaScript (React or Vue.js preferred)
- Experience with backend frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Flask, Django) and RESTful API design
- Familiarity with frontend component libraries and state management (e.g., Vue.js, React)
- Exposure to telemetry, commanding, or satellite operations concepts
- Experience developing internal tools or dashboards for hardware or operational teams
- Comfort working in a Linux environment and using version control (Git) and testing frameworks
Responsibilities
- Design and implement full-stack web applications using modern frameworks
- Build software tools and APIs to support mission automation, ground testing, and telemetry processing
- Write robust, maintainable, and tested code that operators and engineers rely on during critical mission phases
Other
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Willing and able to work on-site in Redondo Beach, CA, for the duration of the internship
- U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
- Ability to understand complex system interactions and communicate technical tradeoffs effectively
