MIT Lincoln Laboratory's Advanced Capabilities & Systems Group is seeking individuals to contribute to challenging projects focused on developing novel system and technology concepts that address the nation's critical security challenges, particularly in autonomous systems and radio frequency systems.

Requirements

  • Embedded software development
  • real-time object recognition and tracking approaches
  • image processing and sensor control algorithms
  • optimization algorithms for mission planning
  • autonomous system development areas including mechanical and electrical design, autonomous control, software engineering, embedded systems, navigation algorithms, computer vision, machine learning, statistics, and optimization

Responsibilities

  • Embedded software development to support control and autonomy solutions for unmanned systems
  • Development of robust real-time object recognition and tracking approaches that can operate on size, weight, and power limited mobile platforms
  • Development of novel image processing and sensor control algorithms
  • Development and evaluation of novel optimization algorithms for mission planning

Other

  • Current BS, MS, or PhD students in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or other similar technical field, coupled with the ability to apply talents to new fields.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to a wide spectrum of audiences.
  • Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
