Grainger is looking for an Information Security Intern to assist security analysts, engineers, and architects in developing standards and governance, conducting security risk assessments, managing security risk, implementing security solutions, monitoring the environment for signs of compromise, and developing the ability to recover from serious incidents.
Requirements
- General knowledge of Information Security field and concepts
- High level understanding of Information Technology concepts
- Knowledge of scripting (Python or PowerShell) is a plus
- Use infrastructure tooling to provision resources and monitor essential platforms
- Protect Grainger computer systems from internal and external threats

Responsibilities
- Monitor Grainger environment for signs of compromise and respond to potential security incidents
- Assist with security risk assessments
- Analyze metrics and trends for various types of data, including compliance-based data
- Support proactive program processes and deliverables
- Utilize Jira to manage backlogs and sprint cycles
- Manage asset inventories
- Record and manage cybersecurity risk mitigation
Other
- Preferably pursuing a degree in Information Security/Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Computer Information Systems
- Expected graduation with a Bachelor's degree between Winter 2025 – Spring 2026
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
