Grainger is looking to analyze customer experience across digital channels to uncover opportunities to create value for Grainger and its customers, and to inform feature and functionality deployment in digital channels.
Requirements
- Experience in coding for data science and analytics applications (Python or R preferred).
- Experience in statistical modeling and machine learning in-industry (regression, classification, clustering, natural language processing, time-series modeling).
- Knowledge of database design and logic (e.g. Teradata, Snowflake), with demonstrable ability to build complex queries in SQL.
- Use tools and platforms such as Snowflake, Power BI, Excel, Adobe Analytics and Python/R.
- General knowledge of analytics, and the curiosity and drive to explore a large data ecosystem and develop analysis skills in a business context.
Responsibilities
- Complete a summer-long analytics project focused on a particular business problem and present your findings to senior leaders.
- Grow your end-to-end analytics skills, including data gathering and cleansing, exploration and aggregation, statistical analysis and modeling, reporting and dashboard building, and summarizing insights and implications for stakeholders.
- Use tools and platforms such as Snowflake, Power BI, Excel, Adobe Analytics and Python/R.
- Partner closely with current team-members on ongoing activities such as ad hoc analysis, troubleshooting, documentation and project management.
- Learn about the different roles and functions of a modern analytics team and understand how analytics drives technology decisions.
- Analyze the customer experience across digital channels to uncover opportunities to create value for Grainger and our customers.
- Work with senior analytics team members and business stakeholders to understand business needs and scope projects.
Other
- Majoring in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, data science, analytics, operations research, economics, etc.
- Expected to graduate with a Bachelor's or Master’s degree between Winter 2026 – Spring 2027.
- Interest in ecommerce and online customer behavior.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively work with partners from a variety of teams.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
