Requirements

  • 15+ years experience in software engineering with at least 5+ years in a leadership role leading a global video engineering function
  • Strong technical domain / architecture understanding around video playback, live video
  • Experience leading VP's and Directors across global teams and technology function areas
  • Deep understanding of how culture and team dynamics create exceptional teams.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Strong leadership and people mgmtskills - influence without authority, change agent, leadership presence, empathy, people development, process improvements, data driven decision making, cross functional leadership alignment.
  • Strong technical domain / architecture understanding around video playback, live video

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead WBD Playback experience for Mobile apps (iOS, Android) and Connected TVs (FireTV, GoogleTV and Apple Tv) across All WBD product lines, globally.
  • Provide technical and strategic vision, strategy and execution to the broader organization to build and operate global platform services
  • Develop and cultivate strong relationship with key stakeholders to drive the planning and execution of vital strategic and operational goals
  • Ability to switch between player-coach roles across design, arch, engineering planning, feature delivery, operational excellence, enable other teams to deliver services, manage cost and usage of cloud resources across the org
  • Build and grow leaders, people manager and IC’s within the org to meet the scaling needs of the global platform
  • Champion Operational Excellence, establishing metrics, alerting and incident management processes that drive resilience & adaptability.
  • Implement quality assurance and load testing to ensure high-reliability and performance of the apps, services, and infrastructure
