Oracle is looking for a senior Electronics Engineer to design and support power solutions for their server architectures, focusing on high-power density and future data center needs ranging from 200 kW to 1.5 MW.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of switch mode power supplies and rack-level Battery Backup systems.
- Experience with I2C/PMBUS communication bus and both Analog and Digital PWM control architectures.
- Proficiency in using common lab equipment, including bench power supplies, current probes, AC sources, oscilloscopes, and high-voltage probes.
- Expertise in 50V and 800V DC delivery systems.
- Working knowledge of C++ and Python.
- A basic knowledge of network communication is beneficial.
- Expert in power electronics, capable of handling requirement ambiguity, performing complex root cause analysis, and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Recommend and design rack power architectures to meet future data center requirements, with a focus on high-power density.
- Lead the design and development of new power products, including power supplies, BBUs, and PDUs.
- Design and build specialized test equipment as required.
- Perform complex root cause analysis on hardware problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct hands-on testing and characterization of power hardware, validating the interaction and compatibility of power products with Oracle server architectures.
- Apply a deep understanding of building regulations, grounding requirements, and the characteristics of TT, TN, and IT systems.
- Design power whips for high-current applications and apply knowledge of NEC derating requirements.

- BSEE with at least 10 years of power electronic engineering experience, or MSEE with at least 7 years of experience.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to handle requirement ambiguity.
