CACI is looking for a Hardware Engineering Manager to support the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Land Border Integration (LBI) Integrated Traveler Initiative ITI2.1 team. The role involves building systems and components to assist CBP in protecting the public and facilitating legitimate trade and travel.
Requirements
- Experience building electronic systems in an enclosure with wires, screws, and electrical components
- Technical management experience
- Basic understanding of computer operating systems and networking.
- Experience in working with cable, wire, and termination technologies.
- CAT-6 Cable creation and testing
- A fundamental knowledge of electronic theory. Understands basic electrical wiring principles (low voltage only)
- Understanding of simple test equipment including multi-meters and cable testers.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and decompose operational, mounting, cabling, power, and environmental requirements
- Research, identify, design, develop, test, and maintain hardware components
- Construct modular electronic systems utilizing Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware and enclosures to protect systems from environmental hazards
- Configure systems using COTS and proprietary software
- Oversee other hardware engineers, providing guidance on assembly steps and industry best practices
- Track and document assembly status
- Perform testing and troubleshooting
Other
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation
- 10+ years of related experience
- College degree (B.S.) in Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Must be available to work a hybrid schedule with an on-site requirement in Sterling, VA
