KONE is looking to improve the flow of urban life and make cities better places to live by providing innovative solutions for elevators, escalators, and automatic building doors, and is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to support hardware test projects and improve design
Requirements
- Electrical testing skills and knowledge
- Experience with hardware testing, troubleshooting, and performing failure analysis
- Experience with mechanical hand tools and a variety of test instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope, data acquisition, current clamp, HiPot tester, etc.)
- Experience reading and understanding wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings
- Ability to learn and use digital equipment and applications
- Programming knowledge is preferred (Python)
- Elevator knowledge is an added advantage
Responsibilities
- Support engineering project test needs, including mechanical and electrical component installation and testing
- Get involved in initial planning, execution of testing, and creation of lab report
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to provide valuable feedback related to findings and recommendations for improvement
- Use engineering principles for analysis and improvements
- Maintain test tower facility and test elevators
- Perform elevator upgrades and modifications as needed
- Perform failure analysis when elevators stop working
Other
- BSEE degree or BSEET degree with mechanical work experience
- At least 3+ years of continuous hands-on experience with electrical troubleshooting, testing, and mechanical assembly
- Ability to communicate well (verbal and written) in English
- Ability to work in a dynamic work environment where safe work practices are priority
- Must be able to attend, schedule and planning meetings, take general training including safety training
