Snap Inc. is looking for a leader to ensure engineering teams execute efficiently on core priorities and business outcomes, driving planning, execution, and operations, while also managing high-impact technical projects. The role aims to align engineering organizations across platform, product, information security, and research on execution mechanisms and strategy, ensuring progress on cross-cutting priorities like ML, infrastructure costs, reliability, performance, and technical debt.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Technical Program Management
- A proven track record of leading large-scale, ambiguous programs across distributed teams in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, especially in the areas of improving platform reliability, operational stability and performance of production systems
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Grafana, Looker, Tableau) building dashboards, source control (e.g. GitHub), ticket management (e.g. JIRA).
- Experience working directly with engineers and contributing to technical design, architectural trade-offs, and roadmap planning.
- 2+ years of experience with technical leadership or acting as the domain-expert to a technical organization
- Strong technical fluency—enough to deeply engage with engineering, product, info‑sec, and finance orgs and translate complex concepts into strategic clarity.
- Proven impact launching operational discipline at the scale of engineering organizations, emphasizing process, cost optimization, and cross-functional alignment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive business critical, cross-functional special projects from inception through execution to measurable outcomes. Examples include: ML platform advancements, driving down infrastructure costs and improving gross margins, AI adoption for planning process across orgs, and build scalable solutions for roadmapping.
- Partner deeply with engineering and product leadership to optimize operational efficiency, embed cost-conscious decision-making, and elevate platform reliability.
- Design, manage, and elevate operating rhythms: annual planning, quarterly OKRs, reviews, resource allocations, and cross-functional syncs.
- Own execution frameworks (processes, playbooks, tools) that ensure consistent, scalable project delivery across engineering, product, infosec and research teams.
- Build artifacts—tools, dashboards, and programs—that influence decisions and surface program status, risks, and opportunities clearly on our core priorities such as investments in ML advancements and horizontal programs across engineering.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and engineering lead, bridging gaps and aligning stakeholders across XFN layers.
Other
- Bachelor's in a technical field such as computer science, mathematics, statistics or equivalent years of experience
- Data-driven decision-making instincts paired with polished executive communication—clear, persuasive, and concise across written and presentation mediums and ability to influence without authority.
- Collaborative, diplomatic, and resilient: thrives in high-velocity environments that demand quick alignment across diverse stakeholders.
- Technical foundation (e.g. Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, technical MBA) or prior hands-on experience in engineering/product management or a similar discipline.
- Demonstrated success in tech organizations spanning software, hardware, ml, information security, and/or research verticals.
