The Institute for Health Logistics & Analytics (IHLA) at Georgia Southern needs a Health Data Analyst to support its mission of transforming health and well-being through applied evidence-based practices and technology integration. The role will focus on managing and analyzing data for ongoing projects to improve workflows, assess utilization, and enhance programmatic efficiencies.
Requirements
- Experience using statistical software for analysis (e.g. STATA, SAS, R)
- Experience with data collection, coding, and manipulating large datasets
- Experience with health applications and systems
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)
- Experience working with database platforms and/or building SQL queries
- Experience with spatial analytic techniques ArcGIS or comparable mapping software
- Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
Responsibilities
- Assists in the compilation and tabulation of data from a variety of sources
- Performs statistical analysis on health data based on requests from project teams or Institute Director
- Develop new reports, models, and processes as required by the institute and its special projects
- Coordinates the collection of data from disparate sources, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and assists project sponsors in identifying relevant datasets
- Writes queries or reports to provide data for various analytical projects and maintains accountability for analytics and reporting
- Analyzes and interprets data to quantify project effectiveness and performance, both financially and in terms of population outcomes
- Suggests process or practice improvements for programmatic enhancements from a data-driven perspective

- Four (4) or more years of experience
