Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a High Performance Compute Linux System Administrator to provide technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams, and to maintain system health on the HPC system(s) – compute, network and storage
Requirements
- 5+ years of Linux System Administration Experience
- CompTIA Security+ Certification Required
- CompTIA Linux+ Certification Required
- TS Clearance Required
- Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to design and scope multiple deliverables across a number of technologies as it pertains to HPC
- Ability to develop solutions that enhance the availability, performance, maintainability and agility of a particular customer's enterprise
- Possesses an understanding, at a detailed level, of architectural dependencies of technologies in use in the customer's IT environment
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and maintaining system health on the HPC system(s) – compute, network and storage
- Reviewing, resolving and responding to client tickets
- Creating, monitoring and closing all support cases
- Maintaining availability reports for tracking SLA’s
- Planning, scheduling and completing monthly patch upgrades on all systems and 6-month kernel upgrades
- Maintaining the system security posture required by the client
- Assisting the client with app installations
Other
- Top Secret Clearance, TS/SCI preferred
- Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total)
- On-site 5 days a week with additional potential on-site with on-call work
- Ability to communicate with internal and external senior management confidently and demonstrate the professionalism of the job family
- Ability to work in a multi- technology environment with the ability to diagnose complex technical problems to their root cause
