Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking to develop advanced reporting and analytics solutions to inform and drive strategic workforce decisions

Requirements

  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation, with strong data modeling fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining HR reports in Oracle HCM (OTBI and/or BI Publisher) or comparable platforms
  • Proficiency with MicroStrategy (or similar BI tools) for dashboard design, interactivity, and performance optimization
  • Strong understanding of HR data structures, including recruiting, job/position, workforce movement, compensation, and organizational hierarchy
  • Experience building advanced workforce/people analytics or BI solutions with measurable impact
  • Ability to work with tools like Power BI, or Tableau
  • Knowledge of data governance policies and data quality standards

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-t-end development of enterprise workforce analytics products and dashboards, from initial scoping to delivery to LLNL leadership
  • Create and maintain HR operational and analytical reports utilizing Oracle HCM (OTBI, BI Publisher), SQL, and LAPIS datasets to support various HR functions such as talent acquisition, compensation, and employee relations
  • Own data validation and reconciliation processes across Oracle, LAPIS, and MicroStrategy, ensuring data integrity through structured quality checks and partnership with IT teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Translate complex or ambiguous business questions into clear, actionable technical reporting requirements aligned with stakeholder needs and system capabilities
  • Identify emerging workforce trends, risks, and opportunities proactively, collaborating with HR leaders to inform strategic decisions
  • Design scalable, user-friendly BI solutions using tools like MicroStrategy, Power BI, or Tableau, enabling self-service access to trusted metrics and insights
  • Support system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) during Oracle HCM upgrades or implementations, validating report outputs and documenting issues

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Eligibility to access LLNL in compliance with Section 3112 of the NDAA
  • Ability to independently lead projects, translate ambiguous stakeholder needs into clear reporting requirements, and communicate findings effectively
  • Attention to data quality, documentation, and governance standards
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with HR stakeholders and IT partners
