The business problem is to develop high-quality training data for large-scale language models to power the next generation of AI in the field of human pathogens and clinical microbiology for a company.
Requirements
- Specialists who live and breathe bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic pathogens
- Clinical diagnostics expertise
- Host–pathogen interactions knowledge
- Antimicrobial resistance understanding
- Infection control expertise
- Hospital microbiology knowledge
- Experience with specimen collection and processing, culture and staining techniques, diagnostic test interpretation, biosafety protocols, antimicrobial stewardship, and infectious disease case management
Responsibilities
- Converse with the model on real-world clinical microbiology scenarios and pathogen-related questions
- Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness
- Capture reproducible error traces
- Suggest improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
- Challenge advanced language models on topics like specimen collection and processing, culture and staining techniques, diagnostic test interpretation, biosafety protocols, antimicrobial stewardship, and infectious disease case management
- Document every failure mode so we can harden model reasoning
- Teach the model that will teach the world about human pathogens and clinical microbiology
Other
- A PhD in microbiology, clinical laboratory science, infectious diseases, or a closely related life‑science field is ideal
- Peer‑reviewed publications, hands‑on clinical lab experience, or work in hospital or public health settings signal fit
- Clear, metacognitive communication—showing your work—is essential
- Supply a secure computer and high‑speed internet
