Durham County Government's Social Services department needs to increase its capacity to share information across programs and evaluate program performance to support family-centered outcomes. The goal is to consolidate performance measurement and tracking for more efficient business intelligence, allowing program staff to focus on their core functions.
Requirements
- Some knowledge of computer-assisted statistical programs and working knowledge of statistical analysis of data;
- Ability to design data gathering instruments and to assess the validity of information obtained from these instruments;
- Ability to analyze data and to draw conclusions from the analysis pertaining to the evaluation of the value/potential of the program/project;
- Knowledge and skill in the use of computer and web-based automated information systems;
- Ability to collect and analyze quantitative information;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel, Power BD, & Access), GIS & SPSS software
Responsibilities
- Provide data management for the entire agency with an aim to consolidate performance measurement and tracking providing for more efficient and accountable business intelligence and allowing program staff to focus on their programs.
- Support metadata creation and appropriate documentation for existing and future performance measurement systems at a local and state level.
- Provide appropriate analysis and reporting to meet local, state, and federal mandates as well as analysis for planning and predicting future goals and trends.
Other
- Knowledge of basic program planning and evaluation principles and methodology;
- Ability to make oral and written presentations on the analysis of the project/study, including preparation of detailed reports;
- Some knowledge of human service programs, principles, and practice;
- Ability to work with others on shared projects;
- Ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures;
- Ability to work independently, while exercising excellent judgment in seeking appropriate consultation; and
- Ability to work under deadline pressure.
